Pat Califia: “Antoniou is an elegant stylist of erotica….”
Michael Rowe (Writing Below the Belt): “Queens-born Laura Antoniou is heiress presumptive to some of the erotic territory staked out by Pat Califia and John Preston… (Her) writing moves with assurance between genders and sexual orientations, relentlessly exploring the dark side of sexuality.”
Laura Antoniou is the author of the well known Marketplace series of erotic novels. Her work has been translated into Spanish, German, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean. Many examples of her short fiction, articles, essays and rants can be found in the collection titled The Catalyst and Other Tales. The Marketplace series describes “an elite and secretive world organization, dedicated to the auctioning and overseeing of the world’s finest lifestyle slaves… a world so vivid in sequel after sequel, it takes on a reality of its own, one that’s visually hard to let go of once the reader has put down the book.” (Libido Magazine). Laura plans several more novels in the series and is currently working The Inheritor.
Laura lives in Queens, NY with her wife Karen, and happily serves as boy to Kim Attica. Friends have called her all sorts of names. Current favorites are “Renaissance Perv” by Midori, “Good Boy!” by Kim and of course, “best thing that ever happened to me” by Karen.
Ms. Antoniou,
Your books are absolutly fabulous. A friend recently introduced me to them, and I was thrilled to be able to find The Marketplace available for the Kindle. Within moments of being told of the books, I was able to have a copy in hand. 2 hours later, I was looking for The Slave for Kindle, and very sad to see it is not available. If at all possible, please make the rest of your books available for Kindle purchase. They are just too amazing to not have them available for instant access.
Thank you!
Very Respectfully
Marinda Darnell
Marinda, all of the Marketplace novels will be available on Kindle soon. Look for the Slave in the fall, the Trainer in the Winter, and the Academy and Reunion in 2011.
Having finally tracked down ‘affordable’ copies of all the Marketplace books, can I just say from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I am restraining myself from racing through The Reunion because I know it could be a while until the next one is out and like a fine wine, it doesn’t get better than the first taste.
I love your well written attention to detail. You give me the information I am looking for and continue to surprise me with your brilliant twists and turns. You are stunning storyteller.
I look forward to the next one in happy suspense.
Constance
The anthology “Take Me There” (edited by Tristan Taormino) is now available, and the short story about Chris Parker, “The Man with the Phoenix Tattoo” is in it!
Ms. Antoniou,
I was required by my Master to read the Marketplace Series.. and now I am a Chris Parker addict, which he finds most amusing.
I was wondering when oh when will you be able to complete The Inheritor?? I can hardly wait.
Thanks,
Katie
When are The Reunion and The Academy going to be released to Kindle? According to your site it said 2011 – we’re halfway through the first quarter of 2012 and no love.
The Academy is in production right now; the proofs that were ready last month showed more flaws than really acceptable, so it went back to the proofers for another go-around. I am waiting day by day for an update myself! The Reunion is in first-stage proofing; I have hopes for a summer release.
Laura, I have five of your Marketplace books. We just finished the Audible version of “The Marketplace”. When will more in the series be on Audible?
I too am hoping for more of your “Marketplace” books will be available on Audible. It’s about the only way I read books now and most of the ones in that genre on Audible are so lame.
Anxiously waiting to read The Reunion on Kindle. Can’t find an affordable copy in print anywhere. Any idea when it will be available! I kept seeing references to a 2012 release, but nothing yet…
after an amazing weekend at kinky kollege spring break, a friend asked me ” so did you have a good weekend?” to which i replied ” i got to meet one of my favorite authors of all time, and hug a porn star….my weekend couldnt have possibly gotten any better…” i want to thank you for presenting at this event and taking the time to talk to me or a few minutes afterward, it was absolutely amazing!!!
Any news on more Mrketplace books coming available on audiobooks?
