Reading & Talking About Writing in Philadelphia

Posted By on June 1, 2013

My whirlwind, multi-city, multi-country, multi-continent(!) tour with The Killer Wore Leather is drawing to a close.  Ever since February, I’ve been pretty much on the road non-stop for over 40 appearances! I’ve traveled from Providence to Washington, DC, from Vancouver BC to Seattle, Denver to Chicago, San Francisco, to Dallas, then on to Australia to Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra; back to Chicago and down to Tampa. As Madeleine Kahn sings in Blazing Saddles, “I’M TIRED!”

Thankfully, my tour schedule relaxes to only a few appearances over the summer, all of which are in driving distance of home.

In fact, my only travel in June is to Philadelphia. I’ll be reading from The Killer Wore Leather on Friday, June 14th at Giovanni’s Room, the oldest LGBT Bookstore in the country.

On Saturday, June 15th, I’m attending the 12th annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference, one of the country’s largest events addressing transgender health and wellness in mind, body, spirit, and community. Find me on a panel entitled Writing Trans with fellow writers S. Bear Bergman and Rachel Zall. We will discuss the nuances and complexities about writing about being genderqueer, gender-adjacent, or trans* in fiction and nonfiction.

I have some other appearances happening over the summer in the NY-NJ-MD area – and a special announcement about another Marketplace book returning to print! Keep your eyes peeled, and your e-books readers ready!
