This year marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Marketplace. I’ll be celebrating with a tour that takes me from sea to shining sea, and beyond. Mark your calendars, or click on contact me to invite me to your area of the world.
Sunday, January 27th
Join me and fellow authors and artists Bo Blaze, I.B. Cuffman, Molly Devon, D.L. King, David Lawrence, Barbara Nitke, and Beth Wylde for an afternoon of book signings. I’ll also be bringing my very popular “What Would Chris Parker Do” wristbands and some “Middle-Aged Guard” run pins to sell.
Vancouver, BC – Seattle
Friday, February 1st-Sunday, February 10th
West Coast Bound
I begin my trip to the Pacific Northwest with an appearance at West Coast Bound. I stay over a day to sign books at my favorite Canadian Bookstore, Little Sisters. Little Sisters dared to carry my books when they were first banned in Canada, and proudly continue the tradition today. You can find me there on Monday, February 4th. I then head to Seattle, for two classes at the Center for Sex Positive Culture. You’ll find me there teaching my very popular class on punishment Thursday, February 7th, and my new class, “Romantic Surrender,” on Saturday, February 9th. In between, I’ll be doing a reading at Gay City, sponsored by Seattle Girls of Leather on Friday night, Feburary 8th.
New York City – Providence, RI
Wednesday, February 13th-Sunday, February 17th
New England Fetish Fair Fleamarket
When I return to New York City, I’ll be stopping by Bluestockings on Wednesday, February 13th for the launch of my colleague Sassfras Lowery’s new anthology, “Leather Ever After.” I wrote the forward for this collection and have several friends contributing. Stop by and hear some kinky-themed fairy tales! And then I’m headed to Providence, for the annual heaven for kinky people. I’ll be teaching three classes while I’m there, and, of course, selling books, wristbands, run pins, and more.
Friday, March 1st-Sunday, March 3rd
I’m looking forward to returning to Denver, and presenting at the wonderful Sanctuary. I’ve visited the Club several times in the past, but have never conducted workshops. Details on what I’m teaching are forthcoming.
Thursday, April 4th-Sunday, April 7th
Kinky College and the Leather Archives & Museum
I’m making two stops in Chicago. The Leather Archives & Museum is helping me celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Marketplace with a speical reading and discussion in their space on Thursday, April 4th. Following that event, I’ll be attending and presenting at Kinky Kollege over “spring break,” April 5-7.
International Ms. Leather and Leatherman’s Discussion Group
I return to the West Coast in April, and will be in San Francisco at one of the largest women’s leather events, and one of the most respected men’s leather groups while I’m there. I’m teaching “Words That Sizzle; Stories That Sell,” a writing workshop as part of the International Ms. Leather weekend, 19-21st. I then have the great honor of being invited to speak at San Francisco’s Leatherman’s Discussion Group on Wednesday, April 24th.
My friend (and internationally acclaimed educator) Midori and I have been teaming up to co-teach an intensive, weekend-long class designed for real people who enjoy power dynamics and want to have quality relationships that suit their hungers and needs. This weekend will include lectures, group discussions and exercises, with time for reflection and time for pure fun. We have developed a unique curriculum that will help you design a protocol and relationship dynamic that fits you and your relationship needs. For the folks who find that a 90-minute workshop doesn’t give them all they want, this weekend is for you. I’ll also be staying over an extra night to hold a reading and booksigning at Leathermasters on Monday, May 29th.
MasT Long Island
I’ll be presenting at the Long Island Chapter of Masters & Slave Together and will have books, wristbands, and run pins available for sale as well.
May 30-June 2
I’m headed to Florida to present and sell books at the Florida Bash, one of the longest running BDSM events in the Southeast.
And this is just the first half of the year. Stay tuned for more interesting and exciting tours, or help create one with me, by contacting me at Laura (at) Lantoniou (dot) com, or clicking on “Hire Laura.”
